Online Learning to Start on March 9
To the LRJJ Community:
For weeks now, many of us have experienced the adverse effects COVID-19 has brought upon our daily lives and routines. The virus situation has postponed the start of classes in many schools and has halted planned schedules for many. Thankfully, no cases of the virus have been reported in our community and for that, we are grateful.
In an effort to minimize the risk of students’ health and disruption to their learning during this crucial period, the Shanghai Education Commission (SEC) has requested all schools within the city to begin online learning starting in March. While the date to resume classes on campus would depend on how the epidemics situation evolves, we must wait for official notification from the government before returning to campus.
Based on the above requirement from SEC, Les Roches Jin Jiang will begin online classes on March 9. Distance learning is one of the temporary solutions under the current situation. We take into consideration of the overall learning goals of this semester and do our best to integrate the content of online learning with the classroom learning in providing continuous、relevant、and complete academic programs for all students.
We appreciate your patience as our team prepares the courses online. We promise to get back to you with more details on schedules, platforms, and procedures regarding the online learning program on or before March 2, so please continue to monitor your email and visit our official channels on WeChat and Facebook in the meantime.
We applaud the resilience our community has shown so far during this most extraordinary time, and ask that you continue to support us by actively engaging in and participating in our online classes.
Best regards,
Michael M. Bao
