At its core, the curriculum provides one of the world’s leading English language programs, Touchstone, along with supportive teacher training and English language assessment.
Students will be placed in the appropriate program level according to their English level assessed by a placement test equivalent to the IELTS English Exam, taken on the check-in day on campus. There are in total three different levels and each level is a 9-week course (one quarter of studies).
The program consists of 25 direct contact hours per week with 12 hours focused purely on the Touchstone material. The course series provides students with relevant skills in the English language including comprehension, listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Students will also be introduced to key terminologies of the hospitality industry and introduced to learning English online in order for them to additionally improve their English level independently outside of the classroom.
At the core of this program lays the interaction between the students and the teacher. SMART board interactive whiteboards (the latest innovative solution of its kind in education) are used with Touchstone Whiteboard Software, providing interactive and creative learning opportunities for students.
The program also aims to introduce students to hospitality, raising their cultural awareness in preparation for further studies at Les Roches Jin Jiang.
By the end of the program the student will be able to:
1. Write papers with the necessary skills to achieve accuracy;
2. Employ oral communication with confidence;
